Stingers rained out in Morganton |
The Carolina Stingers were ready to hit the field for an away match up against the Morganton Aggies but mother nature had plans of her own. Rain postponed the first away game for the Stingers.

Home opener all a buzz |
The Carolina Stingers hosted the Spartanburg Spartans for their season opener. The Stingers held the Spartans hitless for 4 innings. A couple of base hits and a first homerun of the season gave the Stingers an early lead. The Spartnas had their turn late in the game with an 8 run inning. The Stingers battled back but it was not enough to overcome the late inning bats by the Spartans. Final score Spartans 12 - Stingers 8. Next home game at FMHS 5pm DH Vs. Statesville Owls.

2011 MLB Draft-former Stinger signed with the Texas Rangers |
Lake Erie shortstop and former 2009 Carolina Stingers all-star Ryan Rua was picked in the 17th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday (June 7) by the defending American League champion Texas Rangers. Ryan Rua was the 23rd pick of the round and 534th overall.

2011 season is upon us |
A few changes and last minute upkeep is all that is left as the Carolina Stingers prepare for the 2011 season. With only 3 returning players from last season the Carolina Stingers have been hard at work filling the roster.

Stingers name head coach |
The Carolina Stingers name John Spencer as their head coach for the 2011 season. John Spencer is the head coach for the the Myers Park High School baseball team. Coach Spencer has an extensive background in baseball and is ready to start his new role with the Carolina Stingers.
