Cory Tilton Named Rookie of the Week in Atlantic 10
Redshirt Freshman Hit for Cycle This Week in Niners' 4-1 Mark

Philadelphia, Pa. - Charlotte redshirt freshman Cory Tilton was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, officials announced today. This is the first weekly honor that a Charlotte performer has captured this season.
Tilton hit for the cycle over the course of this past week, registering his first collegiate triple and home run in Charlotte's 4-1 week. Tilton, who is from Cary, N.C., drove in the go-ahead runs in the fifth inning at USC Upstate Wednesday, with a two-out RBI single against the Spartans. His first career home run gave Charlotte a 2-1 lead in Friday's win over Cleveland State. He as a four-game hit streak going, scoring one run in each of those games. He has a hit in all five of his starts this season for Charlotte.
The Niners will take on South Carolina (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today Coaches and No. 4 NCBWA) Wednesday at Sarge Frye Field at 4 p.m. in Columbia, where the Niners won their first postseason games in school history last June, eliminating North Carolina State from the tournament. A pair of right-handed seniors will oppose one another as Nick Godwin of SC is slated to start against B.J. Hagen of Charlotte.
Charlotte is 7-1 and receiving votes in both the coaches and writers polls this week
