The Davidson Copperheads have added two pitchers from Georgia College and State University to their summer roster.  Alex Burkard is a 6'7" LHP who was drafted by the LA Dodgers in the 30th round in 2006.  Last summer, Burkard pitched in the ACBL.  The sophomore will be expected to fight for a spot in this summers starting rotation.  Joining Burkard will be teammate and fellow 2006 draft pick (Milwaukee Brewers), Brandon Owens.  Owens is a 6'3" RHP who just transferred from Truett McConnel Junior College.  Owens will also look to compete for a job in this summers rotation.  The Copperheads are excited to welcome both of these guys to Davidson this summer.
