Channelcats Bring Back Two from Last Season’s Roster

Indian Trail, NC--The Monroe Channelcats are already preparing to the 2007 season with the signing of head coach Pat Jolley and now the signing of players. Justin Hollingsworth and Terry Gallo were on high on the list to come back and have signed contracts to play for the Channelcats upcoming 2007 season.

 “These guys were at the top of our list to come back. Justin’s bat and Terry’s athletic ability are exactly what we want back on this team this upcoming season.” We want guys the scouts are going to come and watch. That is what this league is for and we feel these two guys have that potential,” said Cook.

“Justin was one of the team’s top hitters on last year’s team and we definitely wanted that back again this season. Terry has all the tools to play at the next level. He is a raw talent and the scouts love the way he plays the game,” stated Cook.

The Channelcats have also been hot on the recruiting trail fill roster spots. Channelcats fans can look forward to seeing lots of new face on this year’s team.

“We wanted to get an early star on recruiting so we could have a shot at some of the best talent,” said owner Wes Cook. By the Channelcats joining the SCBL late last season they were a bit behind on their recruiting. “Last year we had a late start with recruiting and we still put a great team on the field, this year if we have a longer recruiting period we have a chance a being even better,” stated Cook.

The Channelcats season will begin the last week in May.
