Southern Collegiate Baseball League to Hold ‘B.R.A.K.E.S. Night’

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 1, 2010) – Southern Collegiate Baseball League is showing support for B.R.A.K.E.S., and the nonprofit’s mission of promoting safe teen driving, by holding a league wide ‘B.R.A.K.E.S. Night’ on Wednesday, June 16.  The summer baseball league consisting of eight collegiate level teams will promote B.R.A.K.E.S. at all four league games held that night.

“It’s great that other organizations in the community are interested in helping B.R.A.K.E.S.,” said the charity’s founder, Doug Herbert.  “It’s neat to partner with a group like SCBL because it’ll expose B.R.A.K.E.S. to people that may not have heard of us or know what we’re all about.”

Players and coaches from SCBL, which begins its season today, will visit the B.R.A.K.E.S. Teen Pro-Active Driving School on June 5 to commend attending teens and parents for their efforts to learn more about safe and responsible driving.

“We’re honored to be supporting B.R.A.K.E.S. and want to help generate more exposure for their organization and the important programs B.R.A.K.E.S. offers to teens that promote safe and responsible driving,“ said SCBL League Commissioner, Bill Capps.

The four games held on B.R.A.K.E.S. Night will be in Johnson City, TN; Fort Mill, SC; Statesville, NC; and Huntersville, NC.  Tickets can be purchased for $5 each, for general admission seating.  Group ticket packages are also available.
