Redbirds fall short in final 2 |
In a rematch between the division champions of the SCBL Morganton bested Asheville to repeat as tournament champions. Asheville had a great season improving their record from 2006, making the playoffs, winning the southern division, and making it to the championship game.
We would like to thank the owners, volunteers, players, & coaches of the Redbirds and the SCBL that make the season happen. Most importantly we thank the fans and parents that support the hard work on the field.

Asheville leads the south division team with 6 players on the roster, all other division teams will have 5 representatives, not including the alternates. The Asheville contingent includes Shane Galloway LHP, Garret Jones LHP, Seth Corliss C, Cameron Duckworth 1B, Richard Nassar SS, and Grant Hogue CF. Robert Rudder will be the Head Coach of the South Division All-Stars. |

LENOIR, N.C.—The Asheville Redbirds eliminated the top seeded Rock Hill Sox to stay alive in the SCBL Championship Tournament on Wednesday night. The Redbirds are one of four teams still alive in the tournament and will face Athens on Thursday in another elimination game. Asheville defeated Athens in the opening round of the tournament but the Pirates defeated Davidson on Tuesday to advance to Thursday’s game. |
