7/26/2007 Redbirds fall short in final 2
In a rematch between the division champions of the SCBL Morganton bested Asheville to repeat as tournament champions. Asheville had a great season improving their record from 2006, making the playoffs, winning the southern division, and making it to the championship game. We would like to thank the owners, volunteers, players, & coaches of the Redbirds and the SCBL that make the season happen. Most importantly we thank the fans and parents that support the hard work on the field.

Asheville Redbird and SCBL All-Star Cameron Duckworth won the Home Run Derby at Knights Stadium Jluy 21st during the SCBL's All-Star events.

The Asheville Redbirds will be sending 6 players and head coach Robert Rudder to the SCBL All-Star game at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC. on July 21st. Asheville leads the south division team with 6 players on the roster, all other division teams will have 5 representatives, not including the alternates. The Asheville contingent includes Shane Galloway LHP, Garret Jones LHP, Seth Corliss C, Cameron Duckworth 1B, Richard Nassar SS, and Grant Hogue CF. Robert Rudder will be the Head Coach of the South Division All-Stars.

CLEMSON, S.C.—The Asheville Redbirds ended a six-game losing streak with 9-7 victory over the Carolina Chaos on Wednesday night.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– The Asheville Redbirds scored one run for the third straight game and allowed five unearned runs in a 7-1 loss to the Carolina Chaos on Monday at Greenwood Field.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– Morganton pitchers allowed two runs in 15 innings as the Aggies swept Asheville 4-1 in eight innings and 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at Greenwood Field.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– The Carolina Chaos had six extra base hits and took advantage of five Asheville Redbird errors to sweep a double header 7-5 and 5-3 at Greenwood Field Saturday afternoon.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– Kevin Mattison delivered a game-winning single for Asheville in the bottom of the seventh of game one and Rand Baughman had the game-winning hit for Spartanburg in the sixth inning of game two as the Redbirds and Crickets split a double header 8-7 and 10-9 at Greenwood Field on Sunday.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– The Rock Hill Sox used good hitting in game one and good pitching in game two to swept the Asheville Redbirds 21-7 and 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Greenwood Field.
 
6/29/2006 Asheville takes pair from Thun
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.-- The Asheville Redbirds used late inning heroics in both games of a doubleheader against the Tennessee Thunder in route to a sweep of their doubleheader Wednesday evening. The games, played at Milligan College’s Anglin Field, saw Asheville win the first game 4-3 and the the second game 7-6.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– Asheville’s Erik Stewart threw seven innings allowing one earned run on seven hits as the Redbirds defeated Rock Hill 4-1 on Monday afternoon.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– The Tennessee Thunder took advantage of nine walks by Asheville pitchers in game one and four Asheville errors in game two to sweep the Redbirds 13-2 and 2-0 on Saturday.

ASHEVILLE, N.C.– The Asheville Redbirds stole a season-high nine bases and overcame an 8-1 deficit to defeat the Carolina Chaos in Southern Collegiate Baseball League action Monday night at Greenwood Field.

Former UNC Asheville infielder and current Blue Ridge Community College assistant coach Robert Rudder has been named head coach of the Redbirds for the 2006 season.

LENOIR, N.C.—Dustin Longchamps through a complete game one-hitter as the Athens Pirates eliminated the Asheville Redbirds 5-0 Thursday afternoon in the SCBL Championship Tournament. Asheville sees its season end with a 22-17 overall record after going 2-2 in the Championship Tournament.
 
7/27/2005 Redbirds Eliminate Rock Hill
LENOIR, N.C.—The Asheville Redbirds eliminated the top seeded Rock Hill Sox to stay alive in the SCBL Championship Tournament on Wednesday night. The Redbirds are one of four teams still alive in the tournament and will face Athens on Thursday in another elimination game. Asheville defeated Athens in the opening round of the tournament but the Pirates defeated Davidson on Tuesday to advance to Thursday’s game.
 
7/27/2005 Asheville Falls Into Loser's B
LENOIR, N.C.-- The Kernersville Bulldogs were too much for Asheville on Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the SCBL Championship Tournament. The Bulldogs advance to the winner's bracket final while the Redbirds will play the Rock Hill/Lenoir loser later tonight.
